Over 40 people joined the sunrise service outside St Mary's Church in Sandbach on Easter Sunday to celebrate Jesus Christ's resurrection.

Christians believe that Jesus was crucified on Good Friday to take away our sins and rose again on Easter Sunday to set us free to live life to the full.

This traditional early morning service commemorates the early Christians finding the Jesus's tomb empty and celebrates Jesus Christ's rising from the dead.

The Easter season continues for 49 days until the feast of Pentecost which celebrates the Holy Spirit descending onto Jesus's disciples.
