A Sandbach community group with concerns about the local environment and the planet is to hold a second meeting and it is inviting as many people as possible to attend.

A meeting is being held at the Oasis Community Centre in Green Street on Wednesday (August 20th) and concerns about the planet are on the agenda.

A spokesperson said: "The recent hot and dry weather in the UK and massive and sometimes fatal floods in Europe and the USA have caused many of us to be concerned about the future of the planet.

"We also hear a lot about plastics, sewage in the sea and wildlife becoming extinct - all a bit worrying.

"If you share these concerns this is an open invitation to meet and share thoughts with like-minded people. There is no set agenda – just a chance to think aloud together and maybe share some creative ideas."

The spokesperson added: "We had a very positive first meeting of the group with people from a range of backgrounds and experiences.

"The topics we covered in our informal conversations included experiences with solar panels and heat pumps, electric cars, and the issue of hidden plastics getting into the rivers and oceans (from artificial fibres in clothing)."

Anyone is welcome to attend the meeting which starts at 7.30 pm. A third meeting is scheduled for September 24th at 7.30 pm at the Oasis Centre.
