A newly developed group has delivered a first-class effort for this weekend's Sandbach Transport Festival.

Talented members of the recently formed 'Yarn and Yarn Club' have made a post box topper with a transport theme which is on the post box near Sandbach library.

The group, supported and initiated by Sandbach Town Council as revealed here have only met twice but have created their first piece of work.

Town clerk, Ceri Lloyd said: "There has been a fantastic response to our recently launched Yarn and Yarn Club

"Here is the first marvellous product from just two sessions as a starter for ten for the Transport Festival.

"We already have 20 members and are linking up with other groups and businesses who want to be involved and help.

"The group is a chance to have a chat, a drink and a biscuit and to contribute, in whatever way, to producing what we hope will be stunning creations to decorate the town through the year. "

Town Mayor, Councillor Laura Crane, a member of the group said: "The commitment from a few people has been phenomenal."

The group meets at Sandbach Town Hall from 11 am until 1 pm on Mondays and anyone is welcome to attend.
