St Peter's Church in Elworth has a new vicar - the Rev Harry Frost.

The Bishop of Chester, the Rt Rev Mark Tanner, led an induction service at the church in London Road yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.

Crowds turned out to attend the service which saw the Rev Frost and his family welcomed to the parish of Elworth followed by refreshments including cakes in the church hall afterwards.

Those to attend included Congleton MP Sarah Russell and the Mayor of Sandbach, Councillor John Arnold and deputy mayor, Councillor Sam Corcoran.

Rev Frost, his wife Lucy and children have moved to Sandbach from Wallington near London. Rev Frost, 32, was born in the Carshalton area and says he is delighted to have moved to Cheshire.

"Sandbach is a fantastic town. We've had such a warm welcome so far and are excited to be here."
