A cutting-edge flooring business which has been in Sandbach for 30 years is leaving the town and moving to two other bases in the UK.

Tremco CPG UK is closing The Flooring Technology Centre in Booth Lane and transferring this part of the business to a base in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffrordshire and Barnsley.

A spokesman for Tremco CPG UK said: "We are thrilled to share the news of a significant transformation that marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Tremco CPG UK and its product brand Flowcrete.

"This site has been instrumental in shaping Flowcrete into the trusted name it is today, known for high performance flooring systems and unwavering commitment to quality.

"However, with growth and progress comes the need for change. Tremco CPG UK recognises that to continue leading the industry, we must evolve and adapt.

"This realisation has led us to make a strategic move that will enhance our capabilities and better serve our customers."

Tremco CPG UK said the new Flooring Technology Centre in Newcastle Under Lyme will serve as a hub for innovation, featuring a dedicated Research & Development (R&D) centre and office space for employees.

The spokesman added: "This move reflects our ongoing commitment to pushing the boundaries of flooring technology, ensuring we stay at the forefront of the industry.

"In Barnsley, Tankersley, we have invested in a state-of-the-art facility that will not only host a 1000 square metre customer training center but also provide a welcoming space for our employees and customers.

"This modern site, spanning over 6,000 square meters, will also be home to the first Nudura ICF production facility in the United Kingdom.

"This facility exemplifies our dedication to excellence, offering an environment where both our team and customers can thrive.

"These new locations are more than just physical spaces; they represent our vision for the future."

Reflecting on the company's journey, President Andrew Gwyther shared, "I joined the Flowcrete business in 1996 as an area sales manager, and the journey that Flowcrete has been through is exceptional.

"The merger with Tremco CPG a few years ago, was the first step towards this exciting new chapter.

"As a business, we strive to better our offering and service each and every day, and I'm excited to see what the next chapter holds for the UK.

"I am reassured that this strategic move is the right one for our customers and our people."
