The date for this year's Sandbach Transport Festival is revealed and the amount of the funding event will receive

The date for this year's Sandbach Transport Festival has been announced and the main line-up for entertainment revealed.

And the amount of funding the event is getting this year from Sandbach Town Council has also been announced - £18,000.

A motorcycle stunt team and Adele, Amy Winehouse and Coldplay tribute acts will all be at this year's popular event.

The 2023 Sandbach Transport Festival is taking place over the weekend of April 22nd – 23rd and the main sponsor is Sandbach Town Council.

A spokesperson for Sandbach Transport Festival said: "Sandbach Town Council is providing £18,000 this year.

"Without their support and encouragement, the event would not take place.

"Compared to last year, there will be reduced road closures on the Saturday, mainly around the Scotch Common car park.

"We would like to thank everyone for their fantastic support of last year's event and welcome you all to the 2023 festival."

The Mayor of Sandbach, Cllr Kathryn Flavell, will open the festival at 10.00 am April 22nd and present certificates before the parade on April 23rd. 

On Saturday 22nd April, there will be special events and displays with a motorcycle stunt team and there are plans to highlight the emergency services.

It is also hoped the focus will be on Fodens and ERF and on Sunday, 23rd April, there will be a main display of vehicles and motorcycles, followed by a final parade. 

On the 22nd April between 1p and 9pm and Sunday 23rd 12pm until 4 pm there will be a music festival on the Cobbles.

The festival will hosting local singers and artists with a number of tribute acts

   

On both days, there will be activities in Sandbach Park, especially for children.
