Sandbach was gridlocked this morning (Monday) after a collision between a car and a van on the M6 near Junction 19 northbound.

Motorists attempting to get on to the M6 Northbound at Junction 17 faced long tailbacks as traffic backed up in Congleton Road and near the motorway junction.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "At 7.30 am on Monday 2 December the North West Motorway Police Group  were called to a collision on the M6 northbound near to junction 19.

"Highways attended and found there had been a damage only collision involving a car and a van."
