A Sandbach church reopened its weekly coffee mornings today (Friday) and it got off to a flying start.

St Peter's Church in Elworth held a weekly coffee morning on a Friday before the two lock downs.

Now it has relaunched the event which now includes breakfast baps and as well as cakes, tea and coffee, the inaugural one which took place today (Friday).

"Coffee and Company" takes place every Friday between 9am and 11.30am at St Peter's and anyone of any age is welcome.

Avid baker and a helper at "Coffee & Company", Carolyn Barker (pictured far right), made cakes along with others involved with the event.

Co-ordinator, Lucy Kelly, is delighted with today's inaugural event which she hopes will become a regular date in peoples' diaries.

"We had a good turnout this morning. It's a chance for people to gather and share food and conversation and generally get together," she said.

"It's also a chance to meet new friends. Anyone is welcome and we look forward to welcoming people next Friday."
