Elworth cricket club's Mike Hasprey, a driving force in clubhouse redevelopment, passes away

A former vice chairman and a driving force behind the redevelopment of Elworth Cricket Club's clubhouse has sadly died.

Mike Hasprey was a stalwart supporter and life member of Elworth Cricket Club and says the Sandbach cricket club will be remembered as a player, committee member and a former vice chairman.

A spokesperson from the club said: "He was well-known in local cricket league circles representing the club at league meetings and committees.

"He was instrumental in the major re-development of the clubhouse in 2000 and was sole editor of a club fixture handbook with its advertising and sponsorship for over 30 years.

"Our heartfelt condolences from everyone connected with Elworth Cricket Club go out to his wife Diane and close friends."
