A horse named Katie was rescued from a stream in Cledford Lane, Middlewich at the weekend.

Fire engines from Northwich, Knutsford and Lymm went to the stream at 3.50 pm on Saturday (26 September).

A spokesperson from Cheshire fire & Rescue Service said: "Firefighters arrived to find a horse named Katie stuck in a stream in Middlewich.

"Although Katie was not in distress, specialist animal and swift water rescue crews were able to safely guide her back onto dry land."
