A group set up to support a community park in a part of Sandbach has elected its new officers.

Gill Merry was elected chair of the Friends of Elworth Park, Graham Whitehouse, treasurer and Nicola Cook secretary.

The group held their annual general meeting last night (Thursday) at Elworth Methodist Church.

Secretary, Nicola Cook said: "There are exciting times ahead and more details will be posted on the Friends of Elworth Park Facebook page.

"There's still chance to get involved. If you're interested in becoming involved please let me or the Friends Group know.

"There really is a job for everyone."

Elworth Park is near Sandbach station and has picnic benches, a children's play area and a large grassed area.
