Emergency services called to incident on railway as lines closed

Emergency services have been called to a serious incident on the Crewe to Manchester railway line this morning (January 9).
The incident happened on Maw Green Road, with all lines between Crewe and Stockport are currently closed with services being delayed or cancelled.
Avanti West Coast, Northern and Transport for Wales services are all affected by the disruption.

National Rail said: "The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Stockport and Crewe.
"Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, all lines between these stations are closed.
"Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised."
