From the catwalk to Sandbach … fashion and textile students from the town saw haute couture first-hand during a trip to the home of fashion.

A group of GCSE and 'A' Level fashion and textile students got plenty of inspiration when they immersed themselves in the home of haute couture - Paris.

The students enjoyed a four-day trip to the capital to top up their talent and immerse themselves in the world of fashion and see how it works first-hand.

They went to the world-famous industry textile fair Premiere Vision, where trends are set and colours and fabrics chosen for the future.

And they also visited the exclusive Yves Saint Laurent and Dior museums to discover the life and work of these eminent designers.

A spokesperson for Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College said: "There is no better destination that enables students to immerse themselves in the history and business of fashion than the birthplace of haute couture and the home of an array of famous fashion houses.

"The trip was perfectly timed to allow students to visit when then fashion industry descends on Paris to attend the world famous industry textile fair Premiere Vision (paris.premierevision.com/en/the-show/).

"It was an incredible trip - inspirational, eye opening, enriching, fun and unforgettable."

Students also had the  chance for comparative shopping and visits to iconic Parisian landmarks such as  the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower and the Centre Pompidou.

The trip was organised by design and technology teacher at the school, Kate Windle, an ex-fashion designer herself, who was thrilled with what the students saw during the four days.
