Sandbach United FC Ladies 1st Team have gone for gold with the town's first ever Pride event next weekend.

The Ladies 1st Team are gold sponsors of the event and will be taking part in a parade wearing their full football kit – including rainbow laces.

Players met with Pride organisers recently to go through events for the big day in Sandbach Park next Saturday (September 3rd).

Sandbach United prides itself on being an inclusive club.

Sandbach Pride runs from 11 am until 5 pm and features entertainment, stalls, food and fun.

Janine Byron, Ladies 1st Team secretary and Sandbach United's welfare officer said: "We're passionate about being an inclusive club for everyone.

"The Ladies 1st Team want to make a connection with all part of the community and to ensure that regardless of race, gender or sexuality, it's a club for everyone."

Amy Barber, Sandbach United FC Ladies 1st Team captain said: "It's about celebrating inclusivity, expressing who we are and working together."

Sandbach Pride treasurer, Graham Whitehouse welcomed support from Sandbach United FC Ladies 1st team.

"There can be a lack of diversity in sport and sometimes a lack of acceptance," he said.

"It's about involving the whole community and including everyone."
