Firefighters called after person trapped in vehicle after it hit a tree

Two fire engines from Crewe and Congleton were called after a vehicle collided with a tree on the outskirts of Sandbach today (Friday).

The incident happened at around 7.02 am this morning in Newcastle Road South.

A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "Crews were called to a road traffic collision where one vehicle collided with a tree in Sandbach.

"Firefighters extricated one casualty who was assessed by paramedics at the scene."
