Firefighters were called to The Cricketers Arms in Sandbach on Saturday (December 21st) night.

One fire engine from Sandbach went to the Crewe Road pub at 9.46 pm after embers were reported to be coming from a chimney.

A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "The fireplace was doused down and the chimney stack was checked with a thermal imaging camera for hotspots."
