Firefighters use thermal imaging cameras after bales of hay catch fire

Two fire engines went to a fire involving several bales of hay near Sandbach last night (Wednesday).

They were called to Congleton Road in Arclid at 10.23 pm and were at the scene for around three hours.

A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire and Rescue said: "Firefighters dealt with a fire involving 12 bales of using three hose reel jets.

"They damped the area down and regularly monitored the heat using a thermal imaging camera."
