Firefighters wear breathing apparatus to tackle washing machine blaze

Firefighters were called to a washing machine fire near Sandbach today (Monday).

Two fire engines went to the property in Bradeley Road at 11.12 am.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "Firefighters entered the property wearing breathing apparatus and put the fire out using a hose reel jet.

"They then used a large fan to ventilate the area. Crews were in attendance for approximately 45 minutes."
