Sandbach's world famous Foden's Band will defend their title as National Champion Brass Band of Great Britain next weekend.

The award-winning musicians travel to the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday (October 15th) when 20 of Great Britain's brass bands will perform a test piece entitled 'Hyperlink' by Peter Graham.

And local brass band lovers have a chance to hear Foden's play this piece of music at an open rehearsal in the theatre at Sandbach School on Thursday night at 7.30 pm.

Hyperlink was commissioned by the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain (funded by Arts Council England and the Department for Education) for its 70th Anniversary Year.

Since the anniversary coincided with other significant celebrations in 2022 (including the Royal Albert Hall/Ralph Vaughan Williams 150th and the Platinum Jubilee of Elizabeth II) it was requested that these also be recognised in some way.

Admission to Thursday's open rehearsal at Sandbach School in Crewe Road is free and all are welcome to attend.
