Children at Goostrey Pre-School are enjoying a new outdoor learning environment following a big investment by the pre-school, supported by a grant from Goostrey Parish Council.

The project builds on the Pre-School's investment in enhancing its indoor learning environment in 2025 and represents the latest stage in creating an exceptional setting for local children.

The newly transformed outdoor space, alongside the large field that children can access throughout the day, has been designed to support year-round learning, exploration and play.

Essential drainage and resurfacing works have created a safe, accessible and all-weather environment. New Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) play equipment also provides exciting opportunities for children to develop confidence, creativity and physical skills through purposeful outdoor play in every season.

The improvements ensure that children can enjoy outdoor learning throughout the year, supporting their wellbeing and development in an environment designed specifically for early years education.

As a registered charity that has been at the heart of the village for almost 60 years, Goostrey Pre-School is committed to giving every child the very best start in life.

Goostrey Pre-School works closely with Goostrey Community Primary School to help children make a confident transition into reception.

"This project has transformed our outdoor learning environment and reflects our commitment to providing the very best start for every child," said Becca, Manager, Goostrey Pre-School.

"Combined with the improvements we've made to our indoor learning spaces, we've created an environment where children can learn, explore and thrive every day.

"We are incredibly grateful to Goostrey Parish Council for supporting our vision, and we're proud to continue investing in the children and families of our community."

A spokesperson from Goostrey Parish Council said: "It was such a pleasure to visit Goostrey Pre-School and meet the highly motivated staff who work there.

"It's clear that the outdoor play area, which was partly funded by a grant from the Parish Council, is already inspiring learning and encouraging exploration in new and exciting ways.

"I came away thinking how lucky we are to have this on our doorstep for the youngest children in our village, and we'll be following their future with great interest."
