Manchester Airport is hosting a public consultation on aircraft noise.
In it, residents near the airport - including those in Sandbach - will be able to offer their views on the impact of noise around the airport.
Feedback will help inform the airport's 'Noise Action Plan', which aims to reduce or mitigate the impact of aircraft noise.
Some of the current proposals in the plan to reduce noise include:
- Grants to locals to help pay for sound insulation
- A noise quota limit from the 11pm-7am night period
- A review of departure noise limits
You can read the plan in full HERE. Alternatively, the video below explains more.
The consultation is open until 27 September 2024.
Local residents are asked to give a few details about themselves, after which they can give their opinion on the plan.
Plans are underpinned by the government's environmental noise regulations.
Once finalised, the plan will be submitted to government, and there will be a period of review before the scheme is officially implemented.
It will last from 2024-2028.
Chris Woodroofe, managing director at Manchester Airport, said: "We recognise the airport's responsibility to control noise locally through listening and responding to the views of local residents."
