She said sixth form students continue to bring a "wealth of talents and skills" and said students had shown "remarkable resilience" in their work and the school was very proud of them.

She said: "Staff and Governors would like to congratulate Sandbach School Sixth Form Students on the way that they have conducted themselves and to also thank parents for their continued support.

"Sixth form students continue to bring a wealth of talents and skills, which helps to make our school special. The hard work that the students have demonstrated throughout the last two years has certainly paid off.

"Thanks too, to our hardworking teachers who continue to go above and beyond to support our students"

Head Girl, Ruby Smyth said: "Sandbach school has provided me as well as many other students an immense amount of support through sixth form and A levels.

"It is so amazing to see such high achieving students being able to progress along their chosen pathway.

"I am proud to be accepting an Audit Degree Level Apprenticeship at Saffery meaning I can achieve my goal of becoming a chartered accountant, which wouldn't have been possible without the help and guidance from the teachers here at Sandbach."

Following the results, a wide range of subjects are being studied at lots of locations, including; Gabriel Wojcik who will be reading Robotics at Bath, Luke McCumkskey who will be studying Politics at Queens Belfast, George Hill will be reading Physics at Durham, Sophie Dale will be studying Product Design with Engineering at the University of Liverpool and Finn Kelsall is studying Accountancy at Nottingham as part of PWC's Flying Start programme.
