Owners of a popular local cafe and dessert bar will close their doors on New Year's Eve to get ready for a big move.

And they have launched a crowdfunding appeal to make the building they are moving to accessible for all including those with mobility impairments.

Holmes Sweet Home in Holmes Chapel is moving to bigger premises in London Road - the home of the former Miola business, which has a branch in Sandbach.

The new bigger and better premises, further down the road in London Road, is due to open in January offering a new-look to the booming business.

The business has launched an appeal on IndieGoGo here to raise enough money to build a platform lift.

Holmes Sweet Holme is run by Steve Allott and his partner Luis Cabrera who have built up an enviable client base and designs for the lift and the new premises can be seen on their website here

IndieGoGo is a crowdfunding platform that enables people to raise money for virtually any cause or purpose including businesses, charities, nonprofit organizations, political campaigns and more.

Steve said: "We've committed to a full refurbishment of Holmes Sweet Home's new home, investing a significant amount of money to create a bigger, better space for our community.

"One key feature we're determined to include is a platform lift to ensure the café is accessible to everyone, including wheelchair users, prams and those with mobility challenges.

"The lift will cost £13,500, and while we've already allocated significant resources to this project, we need your help to support this critical addition. By supporting this campaign,

"You'll help us create a truly inclusive space where everyone feels welcome and can be independent in accessing the venue.

"Contributions will go directly towards funding the installation of the lift, enabling us to remove barriers and open our doors to all."

Steve added: ""This isn't about handouts or donations - we want your contribution to mean something to you, too.

"Think of it as paying it forward: your support helps us create an inclusive space, and in return, you get something tangible to enjoy or treasure."

Holmes Sweet Home is offering a range of incentives the the campaign from £6 for a 'coffee and cake' to £15 for two cocktails to enjoy in the upgraded space to £25 for breakfast and coffee for two to name a few.

Already the business has raised £1,710 GBP of the £13,500 goal they have set.

And there's an offer for local businesses too - or local businesses. "Pledge £150 or more, and we'll promote your business on our social media channels, highlighting your support for Holmes Sweet Home and the community including your name on our 'Wall of Thanks'," said Steve.

"Every contribution brings us closer to installing the platform lift and making Holmes Sweet Home a space where everyone feels welcome. Let's create something amazing together."
