HGV driver taken to hospital following collision on the M6 near Sandbach
Motorists faced delays today (Tuesday) after a collision on the M6 southbound near to Sandbach services.
Cheshire Police say they were called to the area at 11.08 am after reports of a collision on the M6.
A police spokesperson said: "Officers attended the scene and found that a white HGV had collided with the gantry and three lanes were blocked.
"Paramedics attended, including air ambulance, and the driver of the HGV has since been taken to the Royal Stoke Hospital by land ambulance.
"Three lanes were blocked while lane four remained open as recovery work was undertaken."
Police say the carriageway is now clear and all lanes are open.
