A Cranage pub and hotel has gone up for sale after owners, Flat Cap Hotels, announced they had gone into administration.
Sandbach Nub News told here how Flat Cap Hotels, formed in 2017, had gone into administration but The Vicarage "would remain open for the time being".
We have since learnt that The Vicarage, described as "a prominently located coaching inn and hotel" is on the market with Christie & Co, with offers in excess of £2,500,000.
A spokesperson said The Vicarage will continue to trade as normal.
The listing states: "Originally a vicarage, the main three storey property dates back to the 16th century and is Grade II Listed.
The property has been extended over the years, most notably the modern bedroom block extension to the rear, which provides most of the letting rooms.
"In addition to the main trading property is a detached two-storey Mill House which was due to be converted to long stay rooms.
"The property has parking to the front, side and rear, where there is also a raised external trading terrace and children's play area.
"There are 23 letting rooms currently in operation with a further four unfurnished rooms not in use.
The popular coaching inn is on the busy A50 near Holmes Chapel and on the way to Knutsford and the surrounding villages. The link to the property listing is here
