Firefighters were called to a fire in two wheelie bins close to the garage of a house in Sandbach.

Crews were called to the incident in Grange Way, Elworth at 7.59 am yesterday (Sunday).

A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and checked the garage roof and fascia boards for signs of fire spread.

"A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots. This is believed to have been caused by discarded hot ash."
