Retailers in Sandbach are working together on a plan to revitalise Sandbach town centre.
Sandbach is a popular market town in South Cheshire just minutes off the M6 and retailers are keen to look at ways of "reimagining the high street" .
A number of retailers recently attended Sandbach Town Vitality group meeting at the Masonic Hall in Sandbach where they looked at ways to work togethr and publicise the town.
Retailers heard that there was a backdrop locally and nationally of a harder high street economy and Sandbach Town Council has said it wants to support and help business if it can but need ideas.
They heard that the active support of business by Sandbach Town Council is "a new proposition which needs engagement from local business".
"In the medium term we are headed toward a devolved regional authority with a strong possibility of funding to support local communities like Sandbach," they were told.

"It's ideas and plans which get investment and grants locally. No tangible plans exist for the town past continuing what happens now, so let's get a voice and improve our chances of success in building a high street renaissance now and be ready to act on the future opportunities that will come.
"We have a unique opportunity for local business in Sandbach to get organised, work together and make and plan a more attractive town which is vibrant and supports each other working toward a single ' retail experience ' with the support of councils and other bodies.
The group is looking at ways of creating a strong "brand" identity for Sandbach and make the town a "destination experience".
They heard how first Impressions count and "wayfinding" and "themed trails" including food, history which could include digital information screens and mobile maps.
There is also a chance of using a "cross-selling culture" where busiinesses could promote each other and expand on seasonal campaigns with a town-wide loyalty scheme or 'app'.
