A fire at a house in Middlewich last night (Saturday) is believed to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Middlewich, Northwich and Winsford went to the house in Falcon Close at 6.46 pm last night (Saturday).

A Cheshire Fire & Rescue spokesperson said: "Crews were called to extinguish a fire involving a kitchen and outbuilding of a house on Falcon Close.

"Firefighters used four sets of breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets. A high-pressure fan was also used to clear the smoke.

"The fire is believed to have been started deliberately."
