The most-viewed supermarket Christmas ads ever

• Aldi tops the list with its 2020 advert, which has gained nearly eight million views on YouTube
• Lidl comes in last place at 49th with their 2019 ad
• M&S and Sainsbury's tie for the most ads in the top 10, with three each 

Christmas is fast approaching and supermarkets have geared up for the occasion by releasing their festive adverts for 2024. But just how successful have the retailers been with audiences over the last five years?

Aldi's 2020 campaign, revolves around their well-loved character, Kevin the Carrot, who battles the cold as he tries to get home in time for Christmas. came out top.

Coming out on top was Aldi. Their 2020 campaign has received a whopping 7,805,327 views since it was uploaded to YouTube on November 6, 2020. The advert revolves around their well-loved character, Kevin the Carrot, who battles the cold as he tries to get home in time for Christmas. 

The shop also comes in third with 3,129,499 views on their 2021 clip. Again, it follows Kevin, but this time in the story of A Christmas Carol.

The bottom of the list features Waitrose, Lidl, and Tesco. Lidl appears the most, with spots at 42, 44, and 47. They received 3,598, 2,551, and 259 views for their 2021, 2020, and 2019 adverts, respectively.#

Waitrose's 2021 and 2022 Christmas clips make 43 and 45 with 2,800 and 2,278 people watching them respectively.
