The North West Air Ambulance Charity is flying high – thanks to kind- hearted Sandbach residents.
Outgoing Sandbach Mayor, Councillor Price Jones, nominated the charity for his fundraising efforts during his period in office.
Now Cllr Price Jones, who organised a charity quiz and music night plus other events to raise the cash, has handed over a cheque for £3,220.
He was helped by wife and consort Chris Price Jones who sadly has injured her foot but was there to help hand over the cheque.
Sandbach Nub News has covered various stories about this fundraising campaign including this one about a tombola and raffle - https://sandbach.nub.news/news/local-news/sandbach-mayor39s-charity-flies-high-as-tickets-sold-in-aid-of-north-west-air-ambulance
Danny Daynes, regional fundraiser with the North West Air Ambulance, said: "We're delighted with this money and all the efforts from Sandbach.
"An average mission costs £3,500 and we do many blood transfusions. An amount like this can pay for around 17 blood transfusions.
"It's a fantastic amount and we thank Cllr Price Jones for his efforts and everyone who has contributed to raise this amount."
Cllr Price Jones said: "The charity came to my notice as my daughter, a local paramedic, had to assist a patient who needed assistance in the helicopter all the way to the hospital.
The service is entirely funded by the charitable donations and we need to keep up the momentum as the costs rise every year.
The North West Air Ambulance Charity holds various fundraising campaigns. The current one entitled 'Brew for the Crew', encourages people to grab a brew with friends and family and raise money for the charity.
