Bands get ready to 'Party in the Park' at this weekend's big event

Member's of Sandbach's world-famous Foden's Band and Sandbach School Big Band are getting ready to hit all the right notes at a performance in the town tomorrow (Saturday).

Both bands are playing at Sandbach Party in the Park takes place at Sandbach Park with a grand 'Last Night of the Proms' firework finale at the end.

Foden's Band, based in Sandbach , were crowned the North West Area champions for the 24th time last year.

And earlier this year, the band's principal cornet player, Mark Wilkinson, was awarded the highest accolade in the brass band community - 'The Iles Medal' by the Worshipful Company of Musicians.

In 2013 he was also appointed as Band Manager, playing a crucial role in maintaining the band's high standards.

Sandbach School Big Band are a popular group of musicians who perform regularly  including concerts with the legendary singer, Matt Ford.

Last weekend they performed at an outdoor concert at the Viva La Vegas concert at Sandbach School.

Tomorrow they will be taking to the stage again but this time in Sandbach Park where they are set to delight the audience at the outdoor concert.

A list of guidelines has been issued including no BBQs or gazebos at the event. Tickets cost £10 per adult and accompanied children up to the age of 16 are free.

Tickets are available from Demeter Health Foods in Welles Street, Sandbach Town Hall or The House coffee shop on Congleton Road.
