Camper van containing propane cyclinder catches fire on M6 near Sandbach

Motorists faced delays yesterday (Thursday) when a camper van caught fire on the M6 near Sandbach.
Three fire engines attended the blaze and three lanes of the motorway were closed southbound with only lane four open to traffic.

Fire engines from Holmes Chapel, Crewe and Congleton attended the blaze at 10.22 am.
A Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: "The campervan was well alight and contained
a propane cylinder which was involved in the fire. Two hose reels were used at the incident."
