Musicians are getting ready to hit all the right notes for the Mayor of Sandbach's finale fundraising event tomorrow night (Saturday)

Teacher and musician, Greg Murray and his Seven Wonders and Macclesfield College students, Olivia Kitchenham and Oli Jodrell (pictured below), who make up the duo LOLi, are playing at Sandbach Town Hall.

Greg Murray and the Seven Wonders and LOLi will be helping Mayor, Councillor Geraint Price Jones, raise money for his chosen charity this year, the North West Air Ambulance for which he held a charity quiz in January.

Now Cllr Price Jones, who is due to step down as mayor later this month, is holding tomorrow night's event in a bid to top his £2,000 fundraising target which he set for the North West Air Ambulance.

Greg and the Seven Wonders will be playing their latest single, "World Stealer" along with other songs and Olivia and Oli, who both study music at Macclesfield College, will be playing top tunes.

LOLi told Nub News: "We're really excited to be asked to be the support act tomorrow night and really looking forward to performing in such a fabulous venue."

Every year, the town mayor nominates a charity and Cllr Price Jones has named the North West Air Ambulance charity for this year – a cause close to his heart.

Cllr Price Jones said: "This charity is one of the most important in the UK alongside the RNLI as they save countless lives each year.

"We have two air ambulance stations in the North West and we are served by Barton in Greater Manchester.

"The service is entirely funded by the charitable donations and we need to keep up the momentum as the costs rise every year.

"The charity came to my notice last year as my daughter, a local paramedic, had to assist a patient who needed assistance in the helicopter all the way to the hospital."

Sandbach Nub News wishes Cllr Price Jones a successful evening tomorrow night and hopes the event raises as much money as possible for his chosen charity.
