The Black Cat Cafe is one year old.

A Sandbach business with a Mediterranean theme which opened a year ago celebrated its first birthday in style.

Customers buying a drink at The Black Cat Café in Welles Street were treated to a slice of a special birthday cake.

And the café was decorated for the occasion with balloons from nearby Sandbach Party Supplies

Helen Sweeney and her family from Haslington opened the café with a Mediterranean flavour.

She says the café has been a big hit since opening and she was delighted to use local businesses to help her celebrate the day.

The delicious cake was made by Lois Little Cake & Chocolate Company.

Helen said: "We are so grateful to all our fantastic customers who have made the business such a success.

"Our customers have become friends and we couldn't be happier with how the year has gone."

Since opening, Helen has introduced a range of new initiatives including afternoon tea on Sunday and crepes.

"We've always chosen things which other businesses aren't doing. We have so many loyal and regular customers and we are so grateful to them."
