Sandbach 10K gets off to a flying start with an array of runners

Sandbach 10 k got off to an amazing start today, with runners from all over the area joining in the annual race.

A large turnout gathered at Sandbach Rugby Club in Bradwall Road for the race - opened by Sandbach Mayor, Councillor Kathryn Flavell.

The annual event is organised by local running club, Sandbach Striders, based at Sandbach Rugby Club.

Race director and Sandbach Striders' secretary, Martin Gunther, announced the event to runners.

The annual event, in its 15th year, saw runners from a variety of clubs across the area, including Audley and South Cheshire Harriers.

A bouncy castle, music and refreshments plus stalls were part of the event which saw some roads closed to traffic.
