Life's a beach and for keen runner, Dave Hursthouse he will go to any length to raise money for his beloved Leonard Cheshire.
Dave, Assistive Technology Project Manager at Leonard Cheshire's Hill House in Sandbach, signed up for a cycling challenge.
Sadly the Leonard Cheshire five day 100 mile a day Tour de Cymru due to take place earlier in the year was postponed due to Covid.
But undeterred the avid cyclist and runner signed up for another challenge – the Pen Llyn Ultra Marathon.
Dave completed the tough challenge on beaches and up steep inclines in under 10 hours and has raised £388 so far.
He said: "It was a bit more difficult as I wasn't 100 per cent well but I still managed it and had great support from family and friends.
"I was running to raise funds for Leonard Cheshire disability to help make sports more accessible to all."
Sandbach Nub News told earlier this week clickhere. how Dave is working on a pilot project at Hill House to provide an immersive cinema experience for residents.
In his spare time he is planning to continue improving the lives of those accessing Leonard Cheshire facilities by making sports more accessible to all.
He is hoping the 500 mile Tour de Cymru will take place next year and in the meantime is considering signing up for a 60 mile endurance event.
In total, he hopes to raise around £1,250 from his efforts and has set up a donation page which can be found at https://www.justgiving.com/daves-tour-de-Cymru
