Lloyds Bank's Sandbach branch closes and the town's remaining bank is set to follow

Sandbach's Lloyds Bank closed today (Monday).

Lloyds Bank's Sandbach branch closed its doors today (Monday) for the final time.

The bank says visits to the branch in Hightown have fallen by 69 per cent since 2017.

Lloyds say 83 per cent of its personal customers already use other ways of banking such as over the phone or internet banking.

The Sandbach branch closed at 2.30 pm. Customers had given staff good luck and thank you cards.

There is now only one bank left in Sandbach, NatWest, besides the Nationwide Building Society and the Post Office.

NatWest closes its Sandbach branch in Hightown on February 8th, also following a reduction in counter customers.

The bank says there were 51 per cent fewer counter transactions in January this year compared with January 2019.
