A partner at a legal practice in Sandbach has qualified as a Notary public.

Sam Dale, a partner at Butcher & Barlow's Sandbach office, has qualified as a Notary public.

Sam, who has been with the firm for 14 years, is now able to offer Notarial services to local clients, enhancing the firm's range of legal services.

He has extensive experience working predominantly on the private client side of the firm, specialising in Wills, probate, powers of attorney and trusts.

His new qualification as a Notary Public adds a valuable dimension to the services available at Butcher & Barlow, particularly benefiting clients with international needs.

A Notary's primary role is to authenticate and certify documents and signatures for use abroad.

Many foreign jurisdictions require notarisation of documents to recognise their validity - a service that solicitors alone cannot provide.

Sam said: "I am pleased that Butcher & Barlow can offer Notarial services to our local community.

"Many people may not realise they need a notary until they face international legal requirements.

"Whether it's for purchasing property abroad, managing overseas assets, or handling business transactions in other countries, having a notary available locally will provide our clients with the convenience and assurance they need."

Sam is now one of five Notaries at Butcher & Barlow and the only one based at the firm's Sandbach office in Middlewich Road.

There are only 770 Notary publics in the UK.

Sam added: "This adds another string to my bow. Many of my private clients have assets abroad and require notarised documents.

"With Charles Barlow's retirement last year, it was important to continue offering this service locally."

The process to become a qualified Notary public is rigorous, requiring a two-year course at University College London alongside professional practice.

This comprehensive training ensures that a Notary has a broad understanding of various legal areas, including private client work, commercial transactions, and conveyancing.

Congratulations to Sam on his qualification! Further information about Butcher & Barlow's Notary public services is here
