Lorry driver taken to hospital after a vehicle collided with a bridge on M6

A HGV driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital after a vehicle collided with a bridge on the M6 near Sandbach today (Wednesday). 

Motorists faced delays southbound following the accident at 5.10 am between Junction 17 and Junction 16. 

A Cheshire police spokesperson said: "At around 5.10am today, Wednesday 27 March, police were called to reports of a collision on the M6 between junction 17 and junction 16, near Sandbach. 

"Officers attended and found that a HGV had collided with a bridge. The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to Leighton Hospital as a precaution."
