A major UK coffee chain has permanently shut down its branch in a nearby Cheshire town, with all of its team members redeployed to nearby stores.
Costa Coffee, Market Street, Crewe, closed its doors for good on Sunday 18 February, following a decision made by the franchise owner.
As of 2024, there are over 14,500 Costa Coffee locations across the UK, with another three branches in Crewe.
These are located on Grand Junction Retail Park, Dorothy Flude Retail Park and Jack Mills Way.
Costa Coffee also has an outlet inside Odeon Crewe, Phoenix Leisure Park.
All staff from Costa Coffee's Crewe Market Street store have been redeployed to other local sites.
A Costa Coffee spokesperson told Nub News: "We can confirm our Costa Coffee store owned by one of our franchise partners on Market Street, Crewe, has closed.
"All team members have been redeployed to nearby stores to continue serving customers their favourite cup of Costa coffee.
"Local customers can find their nearest Costa Coffee store or Costa Express machine here."
