Man, 23, hospitalised following assault at Sandbach pub

Five males were arrested over the weekend following the assault of a man at a Sandbach pub.

The incident occurred on Saturday night at the Swan and Chequers pub in Hightown with police saying the 23-year-old victim remains in hospital in a "serious condition".

A police spokesperson said: "At around 9.30pm on Saturday 22 May a 23-year-old man was assaulted at the Swan and Chequers pub in Hightown, Sandbach.

"As part of the investigation five males aged 16, 17, 18, 19 and 21 have been arrested on suspicion of a section 18 assault. All of whom have since released on conditional bail until 21 June."

Officers have appealed for anyone with information about this incident to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 994493.
