Man to appear in court following attack on Sandbach War Memorial

A homeless man is set to appear at Crewe court - following a 'deplorable' attack on a local war memorial.

Pawel Jarecki, of no fixed abode, was arrested on Sunday 19 February and has since been charged with criminal damage and theft.

Jarecki has now been released on bail and is set to appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Friday 5 May.

The incident is believed to have taken place on the evening of Saturday 18 February.
