Mayor heaps praise on charity group raising another £2,400 for stroke survivors

An award-winning stroke group set up by a woman whose late father had a stroke has been praised by Sandbach Mayor, Councillor John Arnold.
The Stroke Survivors Speech and Language Support Group, which has a group in Sandbach, plus one in Holmes Chapel, Alsager, Crewe and Nantwich and online raised £2,400 from a race night in Sandbach.
Founder Liz Bedson set up the first Stroke Survivors Speech and Language Support Group in Crewe in 2018 after her own late father had a stroke.
The race night, held at Sandbach Rugby Club on 10 October is one of the main fundraisers of the year and was attended by Sandbach Mayor John Arnold and Deputy Mayor Sam Corcoran.
It raised a bumper £2,400. Mayor John Arnold said: "It was a good evening, raising money for a good cause with loads of prizes and loads of fun."
