Sandbach Mayor is nominated for Cheshire Woman of the Year award

Sandbach Mayor, Councillor Ann Nevitt, will hand over her chain and step down from her role tonight (Wednesday) when a new mayor and deputy are elected at the mayor making event at Sandbach Town Hall.
But the outgoing mayor won't be out of the spotlight for long because next month (June), she will attend the Cheshire Woman of the Year awards.
Cllr Nevitt, who lives in Sandbach Heath, has been nominated for the prestigious Cheshire Woman of the Year 2025 award which takes place in Chester on June 4th.

Cheshire Woman Awards is an annual event that recognises and celebrates the achievements of 'remarkable' women residing in Cheshire and Wirral.

A spokesperson said: "We honour ordinary women doing extraordinary things. We honour women who have demonstrated personal courage, outstanding professional success or exceptional service to their communities."
It also functions as a fundraising event, with proceeds benefiting the NSPCC and their work supporting children in Cheshire and Wirral.

Cllr Nevitt said: "I'm absolutely delighted and looking forward to attending the awards on June 4th. I've no idea who nominated me but whoever it was, thank you."
Sandbach Nub News wishes Cllr Nevitt the best of luck!
