Medical practice strikes 'gold' for helping service veterans in the area

A Sandbach medical practice is celebrating – after it achieved gold standard for its work helping veterans and their families. 

Ashfields Primary Care Centre in Middlewich Road is now a gold standard medical practice as part of the Armed Forces Covenant. 

The award is the highest standard the practice can achieve for this type of work for which it has a Military Veterans Champion, David Crosthwaite.

As a Veteran Friendly Accredited practice, the team:  

  • understands the unique health needs that veterans may have 
  • strives to provide veterans with the very best care and support  
  • knows about the specialist veteran healthcare services that exist  
  • undertakes regular training and development to ensure we're able to deliver the very best care to veterans in our community and meet the health commitments of the Armed Forces Covenant 
  •  

The practice has also signed up to Pride in veterans Standards/Fighting With Pride to ensure they are able to assist wherever possible and will provide inclusive and welcoming support to LGBT+ Veterans, serving personnel and their families.
