A husband and wife team who run the Four Priests Brewery in Middlewich have taken over the former Beer Emporium in Welles Street.

And the fun-loving duo who turned a hobby into a business are now appealing to local people to help name their new venture which will carry the successful brewery's branding.

Andy and Sarah Thomason, from Ettiley Heath, are excited about the new business which will be staffed by the people from the Beer Emporium and will be getting a 'Four Priests Brewery' makeover.

Andy turned a love for home-brewing into a business when he picked up some low-cost brewing equipment and he found an industrial unit in Middlewich to open his business.

Now several pages on in his business, Andy who has a successful You Tube channel showing the brewing work, can't wait to get working on the new project.

"The dream is to do what I've done with Four Priests Brewery. Any changes will be very subtle but the first thing we'll be doing is looking for a new name and giving the outside a bit of a makeover," he said.

"It's a great location and has a successful following of loyal customers. We've made a few changes already inside to create a bit more space.

"Our tap room in Finney's Lane, Middlewich will still continue and be open as normal. Our idea is to continue the theme here, providing a traditional bar serving craft ales and lager.

"The Four Priest logo is based on the Saxon Crosses and is linked to Sandbach so we will be keeping that in some way or another. We are the bar with no name at the moment though so we're asking people to think of suggestions."

The building, in Welles Street, used to be a butcher's shop in a previous life which could provide a basis for names as could the Four Priest Brewery and the link to Sandbach's history.

Get your thinking caps on and come up with a name for the new business. Email [email protected] and we will pass on suggestions to Andy and Sarah Thomason. Good luck!
