Former primary school teacher, Laura Crowe, had always loved interior design but it wasn't until a landmark birthday that her passion turned into reality.

For husband, Steve, bought her an interior design course for her 40th birthday and that was the beginning of a new chapter in her life.

More than two years later, the mother-of-two is the owner of a successful design company which turns people's homes into beautiful spaces.

"Sometimes people don't know where to start," said Laura, the face behind Laura Crowe Interiors. "I've done quite a few new builds.

"Often, we start by talking about the interior of a favourite restaurant which they have been to or a favourite colour.

"I've got a passion for wallpaper. It can create instant interest and bring colour into a room with a small amount of investment."

The kitchen of Laura's own home in Elworth has a wonderful wallpaper called 'Canopy' featuring green which is complemented by her love of plants.

Sumptuous teal dining table chairs complete the look and as you would expect, the rest of the family home features exquisite interior design.

But then Laura, who has a degree in psychology and has worked as a higher level teaching assistant in the area, should know a thing or two about homes, for she has lived in 13 to date.

"I've always loved colour and making a home feel cosy and lived in," says Laura.

"This is the third house in Sandbach we've lived in, so I've had plenty of practice buying wallpaper," she quipped.

Laura's love of fabric and colours stems from her children when she would watch her mum, Janet, make her own clothes and curtains.

"I love researching styles and colours and matching colours together. My aim is to run a service which is affordable and accessible for family homes."

And Laura fully expects her clients to 'personalise' their home and bring their own personality into it, just like she does.

Framed bird prints on the kitchen wall give a nod to Laura's maiden name and married one – Robinson and Crowe.

And you will also find prints of places the family has been on holiday to like Copenhagen and Stockholm.

"I always bring something back from wherever we go," said Laura, who doesn't have to go far to see her growing number of clients.

She finds the majority live in Sandbach, Nantwich, Wrenbury, Knutsford and Brereton.
