One person had to be cut free from a car after it had been in collision with another vehicle in Sandbach.

Three fire engines – one each from Middlewich, Winsford and Crewe – went to the accident in Booth Lane at 8.46 pm on Christmas Eve.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson said: "Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to remove a casualty from a car that had been in collision with another vehicle.

"The person was passed to the care of ambulance crews."
