Organisers of a Sandbach charity football match hope to be on target to help children tomorrow
A charity whose patron is Queen guitarist, Sir Brian May, is holding its annual fundraising football match in Sandbach tomorrow (Saturday).
The Connor Ruscoe Memorial Fund was set up in honour of an eight-year-old boy, a Queen fan, who had an inoperable brain tumour.
Connor, who was captain of Sandbach Hayes Under Sevens football team, was diagnosed with a tumour , just weeks before his eighth birthday and was a big Queen fan.
Sir Brian May got to hear about Connor and agreed for the charity set up in his memory to use his name. The fund raised £46,000 in two years and bought equipment for the hospital Connor was treated in.
Now the fund is being carried on in Connor's memory and today will see its biggest event of the year - a charity football match at Sandbach United Football Club's stadium in Hind Heath Road with kick-off at 1 pm.

"It's a really good charity who love to share the love of football with those less fortunate," said a spokesperson.
"We can only do this work thanks to the support of people coming to events like our annual charity football match. We hope to see as many people there today as possible."
