Part of the former Lloyds Bank building in Sandbach town centre has been sold at auction for £80,000.

The building, 10 Hightown, which previously formed part of the former Lloyds Bank premises, had been listed with a guide price of £80,000 and sold for that amount.

According to the auction listing, the property offered former bank accommodation with potential for future development, subject to obtaining the necessary planning permissions.

The sale follows the redevelopment of the neighbouring property at 12 Hightown, where Hampton Dental Care Limited has opened a new dental practice.

The listing here stated the building has a square footage of 1020 - the ground floor being 747 sq.ft, the first floor 273 sq.ft with male and female toilets with a total useable floor area of 1,020 sq.ft

"The accommodation lends itself to office accommodation or retail. "

I'm surprised it sold at all. It's a beautiful building, but blocking an historic easement and creating an additional one for the benefit of the neighbouring No. 12 turned this into a disposal sale. I hope the new owners read this. The auction house and the estate agent didn't disclose it.
